What is important of Sitemap & Why it is neccessary?

Sitemap is a map of website like geographical map of any place which provides all details information about that specific place for example, you are new in Los Angle and want to visit famous places but you do not have any geographical idea. Then what will you do? Of course you will hire a guide or buy a map.






After buying a geographical map of Los Angle you will select some place of your choice to visit. Like that way every website has a sitemap which tells search engine what’s kind of information that website provides. The sitemap helps search engine to crawl each page of website including URL (text, image,audio or video) which may not searched by search engine’s normal crawling. In short, it is list of the pages on your websites.

You can submit a text, XML, or RSS/Atom feed as a Sitemap. You can create a Sitemap based on the Sitemap protocol or you can submit a metadata if have knowledge of HTML, which provide information about special types of content on your site including video, image, moble and news. 



Google is biggest search engine and it follows Sitemap Protocol 0.9 as defined by sitemaps.org.
